"Making the paper" is exciting.
I was interviewed for an article on how catalog companies are handling the challenges of the current economy, from print catalogs to websites. I talked with the USA Today reporter, Jillian Berman, a number of times, for the article "Catalogs by Barneys, Sears, J.C. Penney get creative." I spent a good deal of time on our catalog websites doing research to make certain that I knew exactly who had done what recently online - things change all the time.
It is great to see that the excellent examples of flip page catalogs - Sears - and website creative - Fossil - were picked up in the USA Today article. I talked about these two catalogs because I really think that these retailers know what they are doing, and that they are a great model for other catalogers. A lot of our catalog clients are doing exciting and creative things, but there was only a limited amount of time to chat with Jillian!
Now I'm running out to buy some USA Today Monday papers. Online editions are great, and that is where I get a lot of my news, but a real newspaper ... it's kind of like a catalog, some times you want the real thing in your hands!del.icio.us | digg it! | reddit! | Google!
