  • - Back to School Checklist for Prepping Moms and Students. Sometimes I think going back to school is a more difficult process for moms than kids. I just finished making lists and packing up my kids for summer camp, now I have to buy back to school wardrobes, school supplies and more items than I can possibly keep track of.

  • - Back to school and already Thanksgiving gift guide - What’s up with this? What’s the deal?...Our new public relations firm is really lighting a fire under us. We already had all the Back-to-School press releases distributed back in June and I thought Pierson Grant (our new PR firm) was crazy, telling us we had to disseminate information so early. Heck, I’ve just finished my Thanksgiving Gift Guide and all press releases are ready to roll.

  • - My Secret Circle - A social networking site that's kid friendly and Mom approved. One of my daughters recently asked me if she could join Facebook. I didn't even have to bat an eyelash to let out an emphatic "ABSOLUTELY NOT!"You'd think she had asked me if she could get a tattoo of Zac Efron on her face. I've heard the horror stories and seen enough 20/20 and Dateline segments on the dangers of social media sites for young girls to know that this was not a circle I was ready for my daughter to intersect, at least at this young age.

As I was searching for office supplies and back to school items (I like to get started early), I stumbled upon a strange yet comical item that I just had to share. Bargain Post-it Notes As a result of today's economic challenges, we have all come to love leftovers, especially when it's my prized brisket, so American Science & Surplus is extending the love of leftovers to office supplies.

I panicked. I forgot my father's birthday and was beyond upset. It was too late to run out and order something, and then I realized I was beyond safe thanks to Beyond Blossoms - the floral home of same day flower delivery.

  • - Sacanalog your catalogs with this magazine cataloging system. Picture this scenario. You tear a page out of a clothing catalog of a dress you're totally going to buy once the recession is over, then you snip a recipe from an issue of Martha Stewart Living that you'd like to try for Thanksgiving '09. You follow up by ripping out an exercise regime from a fitness magazine that you want to incorporate into your workout the next time you hit the gym. The ripped out pages go into a pile and mysteriously disappear when you go looking for them. Similar to the way socks curiously get lost in the dryer, your torn out pages get lost in the Bermuda Triangle of your home.

  • - Enjoy holiday savings a plenty on all your favorite catalogs. I know the economy stinks, but I’m driving to work today and just heard on the radio that sales are so bad, people are pulling unworn items out of their own closets and attempting to return the merchandise to stores for store credits. Seriously, I know times are tough but how low can you go? And I'm not talking limbo. Let me suggest an alternative to this year's holiday shopping dilemma …

  • - Top 5 Best Ideas for Kid’s Birthday Parties. just had to throw each of my girl’s a birthday party. I refused to give in to society norms. I decided I was not going to rent space at a kids facility which caters to birthday parties (such as My Gym, Gymboree, LazerTag, Muvico movie theaters, the zoo, pottery making & painting boutiques). No, instead I thought to myself, “I have a beautiful backyard … let’s do “kid’s stuff” that will be a blast and won’t break the bank.
