Have a bad hair day this Halloween

Hair’s to unsexyHalloween costumes and party decorations

Today is Halloween, and I’ve already seen half a dozen slutty angels, devils, cops and nurses… and that was just at the gas station. I like to stand out from the crowd, but I don’t like to get hit on by smarmy vampires and werewolf wannabes. That’s right, no complicated petticoated, gartered, sexpot outfits for me. I’m into simple one-piece costumes that are easy as 1-2-3. Which is why I’m going to a party tonight as the Bearded Lady.

I may not be the hottest chick in the place, but I won’t hear “I vant to suck your blood” and other lame Halloween pick-up lines all night long. I can celebrate All Hallow’s Eve totally incognito with this Beard and Mustache Halloween Costume from Century Novelty.

Women’s jackets featuring super sweet fleece

I’m taking the entire Catalogs.com team out for a group yoga lesson, so I’m making my yoga list and checking it twice. Sports bra? Check. Yoga mat? Check. Water bottle? Check. Comfy yoga pants? Check. Yoga jacket?…Oops. I knew I was forgetting something. I have a drawer filled with the cutest yoga clothes, but the temperature just dropped so I need the cutest yoga outerwear to compliment my sassy yoga look. Horny Toad Activewear’s Sassy Women’s Fleece Jackets totally fit the bill.

Virginia Peanuts are for lovers

October 28, 2008

Gifts of peanut brittle for people you like

I heart Virginia. Arlington. The Virgina Tech Hokies. It’s common knowledge that Virginia Beach is for lovers. Apparently I didn’t get the memo because my travel companion was far from lovely and not the least bit lovable…and no, it wasn’t John McCain. It was no honeymoon, but taking a trip to the good ol’ Virginia Diner made it all worth it. I picked up tons of Peanut Brittle gifts for all of the people I did love. I should’ve gone to Virginia Beach with them.

Award winning train dvds to help you learn your abc’s

I was never great with letters. I still get my b’s and d’s mixed up, not to mention my p’s and q’s. I figured since my job requires mega SEO skills (that’s search engine optimization for all you civilians), I’d better be on top of my keyword discovery and brush up on my abc basics. Join me on my quest for learning as I get on board with these Alphabet Train DVD’s from Lots and Lots Of

Diecast biker dude

October 21, 2008

Enjoy the safest Harley ride ever with this diecast motorcycle replica

There isn’t anything more exhilarating than the freedom of the open road. The wind through your hair, the hot rubber on the pavement… the tight leather biker chaps. Truth - I’ve never actually been on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. I’ve dreamed about it, but I’m scared I’ll crash and die a horrible Harley related death. That or I’ll lose some teeth and have to go to the dentist to have my mouth X-rayed. I have a terrible gag reflex.

How cool is it that I can enjoy a Harley Davdison and all it’s amazing features minus the fear factor with this Harley Diecast Motorcycle replica from The Fairfield Mint?

Get outta my dreams and into my cardigan

I want a new car with a side of hot women’s crochet cardigans from Peruvian Connection

I haven’t had the best luck in the past couple of months. Yeah, I scored a great new job here at Catalogs.com, but my car was set on fire. I’m serious. I don’t mean that it was pimped out with great balls of fire painted on the side panels, I mean it was literally on fire.

I just got my car back from the shop, but I’m still traumatized by the entire situation. I flinch every time someone around me lights a cigarette. I can’t afford a new car, but I can afford a new cardigan…so I’m going to treat myself to a closet full of these hot Women’s Cardigans from the sweater making masters- Peruvian Connection. These sweaters may be hot, but they’re not on fire which is all I can handle right about now.

A gift basket that’s affordable, and chock full of nuts

Gift baskets rule. Affordable gift baskets rule even more. Who doesn’t love receiving a gift basket filled with rich, decadent treats? If you know anyone, give them my address. I’d be more than happy to take those gift baskets off their hands, especially if it’s this Southern Pride Gift Basket from Savannah’s Candy Kitchen.

Clothing that’s Bamboo-tiful

October 16, 2008

Organic bamboo clothing that makes you feel good about going green

I am a self proclaimed clothes whore. Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, I’m longing for the newest styles and fashion trends to fill my closet. I would love nothing more than to emulate the Hilary Duffs, Nicole Ritchies and other style icons of young Hollywood, able to throw on a new fashion ensemble every day with no repeats for the paparazzi to click.

This may prove difficult because one- I like to eat, two- Hilary and Nicole make more in an hour than I made in the 90’s, and three-I care about the environment. Which is why I’m going green with this ecoKasmere Bamboo Sweater from jonäno-eco chic collections.

Make it a Tuscan happy hour

October 15, 2008

Why have a glass of vino when you can have a whole pitcher with Tuscan china and pottery from Artistica

Who doesn’t love Italy? I adore all things Italian: the art, the fashion, the gondola rides, those men with the striped shirts, red scarves and funny hats that steer the gondolas, the pizza, the meatballs, hey, I even love having a little taste of Italy now and again at Olive Garden. But most of all, I love the Chianti vino muy delicioso. (Was that Italian or Spanish?…romance languages kill me). One of my most prized possessions is my Tuscan China Vino Pitcher from Artistica.

Just call me Cleo

These aromatherapy jewelry pick me ups kick Egyptian asp

When it comes to fragrances, the Egyptians did it better. Just look at the Queen of the Nile herself, Cleopatra. She had two totally legendary dudes fighting over her, Romans Marc Antony and Julius Ceasar. Both men fell insanely in love with her and fought major wars that eventually cost them both their positions and their lives… I wish I had that kind of power. I guess I can start by mastering the power of the pheromones with this Egyptian Aromatherapy Pendant from Ventana Window of Heaven Catalog.

Halloween bead crafts for frighteningly fun fashions!

There’s no doubt about it, I’m into jewelry. If you’re talking bling, I’m all ears. Unfortunately for my daughters’ future husbands, they inherited my love for all things that go bling in the night as well.

During these tough economic times, I may not be able to bling my girls with carats, but I can bling them with cats thanks to this Glass Earring Bead Crafts Kit from Oriental Trading Company’s Sensational Beads.
