James Sadler teapots add Bard worthy charm to your Sadler teapot collection

Teapot, teapot, wherefore art thou teapot?

O! Where’st have I puteth my teapot filled with traditional English Earl Grey tea? I thinketh I doth have another teapot somewhere within my humble cottage by the sea, but would a spot of tea poured by any other teapot taste as sweet?

I thinketh not.

And…scene.

If you fancy all things English, you’ll fancy the English Tea Store’s collection of James Sadler teapots featuring the likeness of our beloved Bard, William Shakespeare.

Set the stage during tea time with this Regency shaped teapot depicting a lovely Shakespearean theme. The teapot features handsome hand-painted gold trim, and will make a gem of a gift for any Sadler fan.

DID YOU KNOW? William Shakespeare created over 35 words in the Oxford English Dictionary that are still in use today. Amongst them, the pearls of the English language - bedazzle, fairyland, and puke.

Founded in 1882, James Sadler is one of the leading manufacturers of teapots in the UK with a name that has become synonymous with quality and good taste.

Highlighting various images of the late playwright throughout different stages of his life and writing career, this little teapot bears the official James Sadler stamp on the bottom, and will make a quite charming addition to your James Sadler collection. Now…

To have tea, or not to have tea…that is the question.

Features:

- Teapot holds 2 cups (about 20oz)
- Measures 7″ high x 7 1/2″ wide
- Price: $45.99

Can anyone tell me about a teapot by James Sadler called Pickwick Papers. I would like to be able to purchase this item if it is in stock. Thank you.

Beautiful teapots - it’s such a shame so few people use them these days. The tea bag and the mug combination have so much to answer for. It’s not so long ago that people used to bring out their best china tea sets with complimenting teapot and keep a tea caddy full of good quality tea leaves. Did I here violins playing? Those were the days!

I have to dispose of 27 James Sadler teapots in 9 sets of 3, all in mint condition and absolutely unused, from a deceased estate. Do I try to sell them as sets or singles and what value are they? Rob. (Melbourne, Aust.)

Rob - if you monitor prices on eBay you will get some idea of value. As a collector I am always looking for single teapots to make up my collection and it is rare to see sets advertised. Sets may be of interest to new collectors. As a guide I have been paying between $20 and $40 for single teapots on eBay. I think the UK list price for Sadler Teapots is 17 pounds sterling ) At Christmas the older Sadler Christmas teapots sometimes fetch silly prices on eBay. (Melbourne, Aust)

Got something to say?
