Virginia Peanuts are for lovers
Gifts of peanut brittle for people you like
I heart Virginia. Arlington. The Virgina Tech Hokies. It’s common knowledge that Virginia Beach is for lovers. Apparently I didn’t get the memo because my travel companion was far from lovely and not the least bit lovable…and no, it wasn’t John McCain. It was no honeymoon, but taking a trip to the good ol’ Virginia Diner made it all worth it. I picked up tons of Peanut Brittle gifts for all of the people I did love. I should’ve gone to Virginia Beach with them.
A refuge for folks who adore down home cooking, the Virginia Diner has been serving up hungry customers ever since Mrs. D’Earcy Davis served hot biscuits and vegetable soup back in 1929. I’m a sucker for down home cooking, and an even bigger sucker for gourmet Virginia Peanuts. It’s no surprise Virginia is the “Peanut Capitol of the World”™. When it comes to quality nuts, they know their stuff.
DID YOU KNOW? Virginia was named after England’s “Virgin Queen,” Elizabeth I. No one really knows who Hookersville, West Virginia is named after…but she probably wasn’t a virgin.
Virginia Diner’s rich, buttery Peanut Brittle treats are like crunchy bites of heaven with a handful of their Gourmet Virginia Peanuts blanketed with the perfect blend of brittle candy made from dairy butter, pure sugar and a pinch of salt. They’re decorated and ready to give away for the holidays in a sleek stay-fresh tin. These peanut treats have made Virginia Diner “A legend in a Nut Shell since 1929″™. Sounds like good nuts to me.
