Elementar-tea my dear Watson

The tea pot did it in the billiard room… or was it the kettle in the library
Some people call me Amy, but those who know me to a tea (sorry, tee) call me Sherlock, Super Sleuth Extraordinaire. When I’m not working my day job at Catalogs.com, I would do Sir Arthur Conan Doyle proud, solving various neighborhood crimes and mysteries. I don’t like to brag, but most recently I single-handedly nabbed the culprit who stole my garbage can. The proper authorities were contacted immediately.
Once the crime solving is finished and the mysteries are solved, I like to come home, take off my trench coat, smoke a pipe and use this Japanese Tea Pot from Todd & Holland Tea Merchants to brew the finest Earl Grey tea… just as my dear predecessor Sherlock Holmes would have done.
After studying this Todd & Holland tea kettle with my magnifying glass for a mere 60 seconds, my fine powers of deduction led me to believe that it was indeed a Tetsubin cast iron kettle, one that could most commonly be found in the region of Iwate prefecture in Northern Japan… I told you I was good.
DID YOU KNOW? Not an ounce of tea was consumed during the Boston Tea Party of 1773. Instead, colonists enjoyed kegs filled with Samuel Adams fine Boston Lager.
How did I arrive at this conclusion? You know my methods Watson. When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth!
It was not common for Tetsubin kettles to be ornately decorated as they were originally used simply for boiling water. They were placed over a hearth to provide heat and humidity during icy cold weather until the mid-19th century as infused tea drinking became more popular. The Tetsubin kettle then evolved from a simple kitchen accessory to a major status symbol used to serve delicious tea. Some Tetsubin pots were even elaborately decorated with a high relief design or inlay of copper, gold or silver. My Tetsubin is covered in tiny hailstones and has a strong and durable enameled interior.
Hmm… it seems my stapler is missing. The game is afoot!

Tea relaxes the body and the mind. I for one is a fan of Green tea with a hit of Jasmine, and Chai tea.
