Wake up to more cowbell

Udderly cool alarm clocks featuring loud cows

I’m not a morning person. I value my sleep and my beauty rest more than anything. What really gets my goat is being woken up during my most peaceful stages of REM by irritating monotone alarm clocks (especially if I’m in the middle of my favorite recurring dream starring me and Hugh Jackman on a stranded beach in Australia…yum).

As much as I value my sleep, I also value a good laugh, which is exactly what I get when I wake up to my Wacky Waker alarm clock from Nasco Farm and Ranch.

I still believe in Santa dogs

santa dog

This Santa Dog suit from In the Company of Dogs makes me believe

When I was ten I stopped believing in Santa. I witnessed my sleepy father ripping a Cabbage Patch Kid out of it’s box and from that day forward I knew, it was all a pretense. Until last year. Why does this Dog Santa Suit from In the Company of Dogs make me believe? Here is my story…

Last Christmas Eve I was
sleeping all snug in my bed,
while visions of Marc Jacobs
handbags danced in my head.
When down on the stairs
there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed
to see what was the matter.

I need the exercise

pole

Pole Dancing 101 with the Pyramid Collection

My body is a wonderland, and I need to keep it that way. I get bored of workout regimens pretty easily- running gets old, elliptical machines are so monotonous and Yoga makes me drowsy. I’m always looking for something new which is why this Pole Dancing Kit from The Pyramid Collection is at the top of my holiday Wish List. It will help me maintain my girlish figure…while entertaining a few other girlish figures. Read the rest of this entry »

I did not drink wine with that woman

Have some Presidential fun with Catalog Favorites gifts

After the past election, I’m still hyped up and feeling kinda presidential. My vote counted and President-to-be Barack Obama is going to take good care of me and my fellow Americans. I’d like to forget about how I’ve been screwed for the past eight years and celebrate the fact that the Democrats are back in the house. No better way to celebrate the victory of our new President Elect than with a Presidential wine party! This Bill Clinton corkscrew from Catalog Favorites is a welcome addition to any wine party…or party in general.

Have a bad hair day this Halloween

Hair’s to unsexyHalloween costumes and party decorations

Today is Halloween, and I’ve already seen half a dozen slutty angels, devils, cops and nurses… and that was just at the gas station. I like to stand out from the crowd, but I don’t like to get hit on by smarmy vampires and werewolf wannabes. That’s right, no complicated petticoated, gartered, sexpot outfits for me. I’m into simple one-piece costumes that are easy as 1-2-3. Which is why I’m going to a party tonight as the Bearded Lady.

I may not be the hottest chick in the place, but I won’t hear “I vant to suck your blood” and other lame Halloween pick-up lines all night long. I can celebrate All Hallow’s Eve totally incognito with this Beard and Mustache Halloween Costume from Century Novelty.

Pop it like it’s hot

pop up book

Create your own pop up books make totally fun games for kids

I would love to write the story of my life. It would document the thrilling tale of a sassy redhead with amazing adventures that rival any experienced by that freckle-faced Pippi Longstocking. I’m pretty busy, so a short and sweet children’s book will have to do. The more colorful, the better. Oh! And pop ups! You gotta have pop ups! I think I’ll get started on a rough draft with this “Create your Own Pop-Up Book” that takes the cake when it comes to Fun kids games from Met Kids.

It’s not easy, being cheesy

Enjoy some cheddar cheese popped popcorn featured in a Go Badgers popcorn container

Why are men like popcorn?
Because they satisfy you, but only for a little while.

I jest. If you want some popcorn that dispels this myth, get on the road and head on down to Rural Route 1 for a Popcorn Container tin filled with delicious gourmet flavored popped popcorn that is totally satisfying, every time you pop a kernel in your mouth.

Monchhichi Monkey Madness

monchhichi

FAO Schwarz has brought back Monchhichi

Get ready kids and campers for an “I Love the 80′s” flashback. When I was a little girl, I was obsessed. Not with Scott Baio from Charles in Charge, not with Ralph Macchio from The Karate Kid (That’s a lie. I proudly owned the Karate Kid headband and did attempt to perform that crazy flying kick when Julie Pickler tried to make me eat sand…it didn’t turn out well). I wasn’t even obsessed with Cabbage Patch Kids. In fact, I thought they beared too much of a resemblance to the Quaker Oats guy, only with ugly, unmanageable yarn hair. No, my obsession dear friends was with Monchhichi. Read the rest of this entry »

Why so serious?

Joke ‘em if you got ‘em with this lookalike Joker Collectible Figurine

I’m a goner for a killer smile. I’m still crushing on Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker from this summer’s mega hit Batman: The Dark Knight. Having this Joker Collectible Figurine on my desk reminds me to not take life so seriously.

Purim Piñata fun for everyone

Find the coolest Mexican piñata shapes for your next party

My husband and I decided to try something new and celebrate Purim this year. Oh what fun we had celebrating how Queen Esther saved the Jews of Persia from annihilation. We got decked out in costumes, loaded up on noisemakers, food baskets, had a festive meal, and finished up by knocking the candy out of this Purim Mexican Piñata!
