I Resolve to Rehydrate

Oral rehydration solution – Rehydrate and detoxify with Q-Hydrate528

One of my New Year’s resolutions this year was to drink more healthy fluids. Lately I’ve noticed that I’ve been feeling more and more dehydrated. At work, while walking the dog, at the gym. I even feel dehydrated while I’m drinking a tall glass of water.

Thanks to Q-HYDRATE528™ Oral Rehydration Solution from IVL, I can provide my body with all of the trace minerals it needs.  From magnesium to potassium, my body is getting all of the nutrients it craves, quickly and efficiently with just 3/4 of a teaspoon a day.

Finally, a resolution that I can rock.

This year, I’m thankful for Bowel EZ

bowel support

Bowel support for when your bowels become irritable during Thanksgiving

I’m a healthy eater 364 days of the year but on Thanksgiving Day,  all of my healthy eating habits go out the window.

Turkey, yams, white meat, dark meat, thick gravy, cranberry relish, greenbean casserole, buttermilk biscuits, creamed corn, 5 kinds of pie… if it’s on the table, it’s going in my stomach.

Fast forward a half hour later, and my bowels will begin to seek their revenge. I don’t want to have to regret a single bite of holiday spread, so this year I’m arming myself with Bowel EZ Bowel Support from ProHealth.

This is going to be the best Thanksgiving ever…

I feel it in my gut.

Tao for two

herbal stress remedies

Herbal stress remedy with Tao strength stress relief in a bottle

Stress is a many unsplendored thing.

Yes, I realize that unsplendored isn’t technically a word, but I’m not going to stress about it. Although I do seem to stress over everything else in my life.  Like any other woman of the new millenium, I stress over the big things and the little things…from my kids and their health to my job, meeting deadlines at the end of the month and my cat George. With every day that goes by, I find myself sweating over the small stuff and crying out “Calgon, take me away!”

Sadly, Calgon bubbles don’t live up to the hype and I don’t have a genie in a bottle that will grant my wish for stress free satisfaction, but I do have Tao in a Bottle – the Herbal Stress Remedy  from Ron Teeguarden’s Dragon Herbs that totally rubs me the right way.

When life gives you lemons, light a lemon scented candle

lemon scented candle

Lemon scented candles lightly scented with ginger, grapefruit and lemongrass

Some days, things just don’t go your way.

You realize your umbrella has a hole in it during a tropical storm.
You grab a doorknob at Disney World and get sick for a month.
The coffee maker splurts coffee grounds all over you.
You find out there’s 50lbs of honey in the walls of your house.

When life gives me lemons, I don’t make lemonade (too much sugar). Instead, I do two things.

1. I take a lemon-flavored Emergen-C packet for a burst of Vitamin C.
2. I light my Ginger and Grapefruit Scented Candles from Nice Aromas.

It works every time.

Cause I don’t eats me Spinach

all day energy greens

All Day Energy Greens for maximum energy all day, every day

When it comes to favorite comic strip heroes, Popeye the Sailor Man is right up there with Wolverine. From those killer forearms to that wicked anchor tattoo and cackle of a laugh, I’ve always wished that I had at least an ounce of Popeye’s superhuman strength…the only problem? I don’t like spinach. Actually, I hates it.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s super packed with nutrients, iron and things that do a body good, but when it comes to dinner, I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.

I may not be a big veggie man, but now I can get all of my fortified vitamins and minerals with a canister of All Day Energy Greens from the Institute for Vibrant Living.

My Pappy would be so proud.

I am not a paper cup

porcelain coffee cup

Porcelain coffee cups for eco-friendly coffee drinking

I am NOT a paper cup. I repeat, I am NOT a paper cup.

I may look like a paper cup, act like a paper cup and hold coffee like a paper cup, but I am most certainly not a paper cup. Enough about what I am not… here is what I am.

- I am a porcelain coffee cup.
- I am white.
- I come with my own silicone lid.
- I am eco-friendly.
- I am dishwasher safe.
- I am microwave safe.
- I am
3.5 x 3.5 x 6 inches tall.
- I am from Modcloth.

I am saving the environment, one disposable coffee cup at a time.

Beyond the pail

compost kitchen pail

Compost kitchen pail keeps compost hidden in an attractive bamboo pail

Ever since Earth Day, I’ve been making a calculated effort to be more kind to the environment. My son has been on me about it and I want to do my best to leave an eco-footprint smaller than my size 10 clunkers. Here are a few steps I’ve taken on my path to a greener lifestyle…

1. Fuel efficiency – I’m riding my bike everywhere, except if I’ve been drinking. I don’t want a BUI (biking under the influence).
2. Energy preservation – I switched to fluorescent lighting, even though it makes me and all my guests look like Vincent Price.
3. Recycling – I inherited this cute top one of my girlfriends was getting rid of (one woman’s trash is another woman’s treasure).
4. Composting – I’ve been saving my eggshells, coffee grounds and kitchen scraps in this sleek and natural Bamboo Kitchen Compost Pail from All Seasons Homestead Helpers.

How do you like them apple cores Earth?

In the swim of things

eco bikini top

Eco fabric bikini top for eco friendly beach style

Spring break is just a hop, skip and a tequila shot away, and this year I’m investing a little extra thought and sensitivity when it comes to shopping for my beach wardrobe. I want to look hot, but I’ve discovered from my environmentally-friendly friends that it’s hotter to be eco conscious than to prance around in those uncomfortable thong thong thong thong thongs R& B artist Sisqó sang about.

This Eco fabric Bikini top from Aventura Clothing is made from recycled poly, which is a comfier, cooler and healthier alternative to the recycled tin foil and dental floss string bikini I crafted last year. I can still feel the burn.

Clothing that’s Bamboo-tiful

Organic bamboo clothing that makes you feel good about going green

I am a self proclaimed clothes whore. Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, I’m longing for the newest styles and fashion trends to fill my closet. I would love nothing more than to emulate the Hilary Duffs, Nicole Ritchies and other style icons of young Hollywood, able to throw on a new fashion ensemble every day with no repeats for the paparazzi to click.

This may prove difficult because one- I like to eat, two- Hilary and Nicole make more in an hour than I made in the 90′s, and three-I care about the environment. Which is why I’m going green with this ecoKasmere Bamboo Sweater from jonäno-eco chic collections.

Get stoned

Let spiritual quotes stones rock your world

I love stones. The Rolling Stones, stone massages, gemstones… Cold Stone Creamery. In fact, I haven’t found a stone I didn’t like. Scratch that. Not so crazy about gravestones. Or kidney and gallstones. Those I can do without. Back to good stones. I simply adore these Spiritual Quotes Stones from Before & After. They may look like coffee beans, but these stones tell a story.

Organic pillow fight

This buckwheat pillow and organic bedding is A o-tay!

When I first heard of The Clean Bedroom website, I thought they’d send people to actually come in and clean my bedroom. Unfortunately for me, that’s not really what they do, but I did find a pretty sweet supply of organic bedding like these Buckwheat pillows.

I’m on a diet Mac

Organic foods online rock my vegetarian world

I’m proud to be a Vegetarian. I treat my body like the temple it is and stay away from foods that have a face, or foods that are overly processed. That doesn’t mean I don’t get the odd craving for one of my old childhood staples every now and then. I get all my Organic Foods Online at Hodgson Mill, because I can pick up some old school food favorites made healthy like this yummy Whole Wheat Mac and Cheese. Read the rest of this entry »
