In this 1981 flop turned cult classic, a medieval kingdom is at the mercy of the vicious dragon, Vermithrax Pejorative. This villainous tyrant requires that virgins be sacrificed in order to keep the country safe, and it is up to a sorcerer’s apprentice to save the king’s daughter, who is next in line.

4. The Hydra from Jason and the Argonauts

Ground breaking stop-motion animation brings this seven-headed beast to life in the 1963 fantasy classic. Jason defeats the monster only to then be faced with a skeleton army that is formed from the Hydra’s teeth.
