Twitching eye stress can be caused by everyday activities
If you've ever experienced an eye twitch, you know just how annoying it can be. Although a twitching eye, also called a blepharospasm, is fairly common, it's typically not serious. However, that doesn't mean you want to deal with it.

Try cutting back on the amount of caffeine you consume. If you notice your twitching eye stress starting to subside, you'll know that caffeine is the culprit.
Try switching to decaf coffee or even herbal tea. And reduce the amount of soda you ingest during the day, since it often contains high amounts of the stimulant.
Smoking is bad for you in so many ways and is often a cause for twitching eye stress. You likely know you should stop; however, quitting smoking is definitely difficult.
You can obtain a prescription for medication that can help you quit, or you can even join a support group. Whichever way you decide to nix that nasty habit, it will be well worth it. Your health will improve and so will that eye twitch.
Twitching eye stress can also be caused by chronic dry eyes. Staring at a computer, wearing contact lenses and certain medications can cause your eyes to lose hydration. In order to stop the twitching and get your eyes healthy again, you'll need to replenish the lacking fluid. Visit your doctor for medication that can treat the dry eyes or use over-the-counter products. Cutting back on caffeine and alcohol can also help with the problem.
