About Cabela's

Cabela's is an American outdoor recreation retailer specializing in hunting, fishing, boating, camping, archery, and outdoor gear. Founded in 1961 in Sidney, Nebraska by Dick and Mary Cabela — Dick famously hand-addressed the earliest catalogs from the family kitchen table — Cabela's grew into one of the largest outdoor retail brands in North America over the next five decades. The company was acquired by Bass Pro Shops in October 2017 in a $4.2 billion merger that brought the two most iconic outdoor-catalog brands in America under one roof. Cabela's continues to operate its mega-store retail format and its long-running free-catalog-by-mail program, publishing a family of seasonal and category-specific catalogs each year.

Cabela's Hunting

The Cabela's Hunting catalog is the brand's flagship book — the largest of the annual editions and the one most requested by mail.
