Wrestling with what to give the sports fan that has everything can make for some long, sleepless nights.

With your physical well-being in mind, I’ve scoured my favorite catalogs to come up with the best gifts ideas for sports fans. Remember of course, that any sports gift is not the RIGHT gift, unless it’s the RIGHT team on that sports gift for your sports lover.

Pool Dawg

Team logo pool cues and accessories

UT pool and billard ball set

Anyone can pick up a mug or shot glass featuring someone’s favorite team. But how many people can present a fan with a set of licensed pool/billard balls, a logo pool cue and a matching team logo pool table cover?

This isn’t something you put on a shelf to collect dust. Nope. It’s a gift that will show a fan’s pride in their team everytime they rack ‘em up. It might even provide a “home field advantage” against players who prefer some other team! Licensed pool and billard gear is available from Pool Dawg for NFL, MLB and college teams. If you don’t see their favorite listed, see if it’s going to be added soon. The collection is growing all the time!

Shoe Catalogs

Old school footwear

Jocks everywhere will appreciate these pair of old school Chuck Taylor All-Stars. They’re not ideal to actually hoop or run in, but your sports fan will arrive and leave the Coliseum, gym or game in style. And, as a bonus, wearing Chuck Taylors will extend the life of those pricey hooping or running shoes they’ll don when it’s go time, because they won’t have to wear them to and from the arena. Stylish and practical; nice. Not to mention the dose of hipster coolness that comes with every pair.

(PS…even armchair atheletes will love these. A sporting look without breaking a sweat? What could be better?)

Dover Publishing

The story of their heros

Who says gift ideas for sports fans wlways have to be sweat-inducing (or over-the-moon expensive!) to matter? When it’s off-season (or just between games), why not have give the sports lover in your life access to the stories of their teams, their heros, or the sport itself? Dover Publishing has books to bring sports history and the stories of some of its greatest players right into a fan’s hands.

And with their incredible discount prices, you can afford to choose several books…or pair one or two with another sporting present.

Activewear that Goes Strong

Team wear for women

Miami Marlins womens tank top

Why should the guys have all the fun? Women are sports fans, too! So why not surprise the female fans on your gift list with authentic replica jerseys or other decidedly feminine fan gear from their favorite major league baseball, football, basketball or hockey teams? The Finish Line offers the jerseys, t-shirts, tanks, caps, hoodies and accessories that girls who love the game want to wear.

Prefer college sports? No worries — they have those too. Looks like fan-girling now has a whole new meaning.

Ithaca Sports

Participation therapy

One of the best of gifts for sports fans

For the sports fans that still get out and compete, bless you one and all, managing the recoup time after the game takes a bit of forethought. Sombra Warm Therapy from Ithaca Sports will help speed the recovery time; it feels like a thousand tiny fingers, right where your favorite sports fans – and sports particpants – need them most. And they won’t spend the rest of the day smelling like a recently sanitized hospital room mixed with Vapo-Rub.

Thanks for the ideas! All of those are really great that I’m sure any sports lover would really like! Another gadget I would personally add to your list would be the new Tailgater from my TV provider/employer DISH Network. It’s a 10lb portable satellite system that will show all your subscribed programming from home anywhere. Any sports fanatic would love it; especially those who tailgate and go camping a lot! I just bought one for my boyfriend for his birthday last week and he thinks it great! Check out the details here .
