Do you enjoy cleaning your house? Most people don’t. There’s just so much to do, and nobody ever seems to want to help. Dishes, laundry, floors, carpets …
it’s enough to keep a person busy for days (weeks if you have children). You don’t have to waste all day cleaning, though.
Here are the top housecleaning tips that you may not know about. You certainly won’t find them in your favorite magazines.
10. Your bed

Don’t waste time making it. You’re just going to sleep in it again. Preferably for a mid-afternoon nap. Maybe a mid-morning nap too.
9. Dishes

Stop buying them. Use paper plates. If your family insists on dishes, throw away the really dirty ones. This will save you a great deal of time.
8. Floors

Buy patterned tile that makes it impossible to distinguish dirt. Only mop when your socks begin sticking to the tiles.
7. Laundry

Ugh. Laundry. It never ends. If you can’t bribe your kids to do it for you, start only washing socks and underwear. Hang the dirty shirts and pants back in the closet. Blame the laundry detergent when your family complains about odors and stains.
6. Carpets

Choose thick, shaggy carpet in a gray or dark brown shade. You won’t have to vacuum as often.
5. Living room

Take advantage of drawers. Cram random piles of paper, stray toys, and unopened bills in them. Feel free to hide stuff under the couch cushions as well.
4. Oven

Order pizza and Chinese frequently so that it never gets dirty. The oven also makes a great storage container.
3. Walls

Hide stains and dents with strategically placed photos, shelves, and paintings.
2. Stains

When dealing with stains on clothing, carpets and furniture, always remember to dab, not rub. On second thought, just throw it away.
1. Mirrors

Mirrors are one thing you should actually clean. You want to see your beautiful face, right? Use glass cleaner and a soft rag or paper towel.
