What is a blog? This is a question that many people ask. First, “blog” is shortened from the word web log. There are other programs such as Blogger.com and WordPress.com that you can use to blog. These programs allow you to choose a “theme” for your blog. If you’re blogging about “golfing” you can choose a theme that matches the content of your blog which is golfing.

If you know someone who is technologically advanced, you could purchase a domain name and ask them to build you a “customized website” for your blog. Some people choose to do this because they cannot find a theme that matches the topic of their blog. Others may want to take blogging a step further and incorporate a media section filled with podcasts and videos.
