There are many ways to create a luxurious living room with the right ingredients

Luxurious means very comfortable, enjoyable and elegant in a way that involves great expense. Yet, you really do not have to spend a king’s ransom to achieve luxury. It can be acquired on a modest budget when you use creativity and ingenuity. Ways to create a luxurious living room including using color, design, texture, pattern, certain fabrics and lighting.

Utilize opulent fabrics for furniture covering, detailed lampshades and drapes including fine silk, damask, velvet and brocade. Wallpaper adds to the opulence of a room. Choose damask, hand-painted paper, sumptuous floral designs or even fabric.

Rich colors, jewel tones, lend to the luxury of a room. These colors are a background that create a space people want to come into and wrap themselves up in, like a cocoon.

If you aren’t sure about the color scheme, experiment with different colors. Many paint stores offer small sample size of paint. Put some paint on a discreet area of a wall but in a place where it gets some direct sunlight. This way you can see how the color looks in natural light and, at night, under artificial light. When you experiment using sample size paint you haven’t spent a bunch of money on paint so it is not a big deal if you don’t like the outcome.
