We all have those days that even with a closet full of clothes we have nothing to wear.
We start thinking that all our clothes are out of style and that we are destined to go shopping yet again.
But WAIT a second! Don’t run to the mall just yet!
Not knowing what to wear is not about going shopping; it’s about not following fashion and the latest trends! You can definitely find a use for that weird floral skirt or that shiny tank top. It’s all about knowing how to follow fashion the right way, so here are 10 ways to do so:
10. Buy magazines
On your next trip to the grocery store grab a “People” “Elle” or “Vogue”. See what the latest must haves are and check out what celebs are wearing, but most importantly how are they wearing it.
9. Read fashion blogs
Bored? Get online and see what fashion bloggers are talking about and what the pieces of the season are. Remember to not only see the clothes, but focus on the accessories as well such as shoes, scarves and jewelry!
8. Order catalogs
If you are already in the store, calm down, breath, and put everything down. Instead go ahead and take home a catalog. Most stores have them or you can subscribe to get catalogs by mail. This is a perfect and extremely cheap way of getting to know what trends are coming up in a few weeks or months.
7. Go window shopping
One of my favorite ways to get already-assembled ideas of looks and styles is window shopping. That’s right! Window shopping means that you are smart enough to take a mental picture of your favorite ensembles and imitating it later. After all it’s a professional stylist behind those windows and mannequins.
6. Watch television
Turn on your TV! Tune in to watch morning news shows, celebrity interviews, quality reality shows and you can definitely get some ideas easily.
5. Scan gossip tabloids
They caught Kim Kardashian eating an entire pizza by herself! You don’t care but what was she wearing?! Get it? Gossip tabloids are worth going through just to see what celebs wear on their everyday lives instead of just red carpet events.
4. Hit the streets
Get out there! Take a walk through your city and see what people are wearing. It’s a great way to see real people, in real time, seeing the trends developing in front of your eyes!
3. Go to fashion shows
If you live in a big city like New York, Los Angeles or Madrid, get around and scout tickets for a Fashion Week show. What better way to get in style than to get the top items of the season from the best designers?
2. Download some apps
Smartphone apps are an easy, fun and on-the-go way to get the 411 of the fashion latest.
1. Hire a stylist
Get your own fashion stylist or personal shopper. These people can style you every day, pick the clothes you are going to wear and even help to donate clothes from the past that you’ll never wear again!
Splurging or not, check out all these ideas and compare them to what you have in your closet and make it happen. You are going to see that you have tons of items that can get an outfit that looks in style!
